I did the following:
1. Turn on the DVD player with no software inside or "NO DISC"

2. On the remote control, press "SETUP" and you will see an "on screen display" that will show Audio 1,
Audio 2, Video language, and General

3. Press the "RIGHT ARROW" until "GENERAL" is selected

4. Press the "DOWN ARROW" down arrow once

Make sure that the menu is set to "BASIC"

5. Press "DISPLAY"

6. Press "CONDITION MEMORY"

7. Press "1, 2, 3, 4, 5, OR 6" for the desired region

8. Press "SETUP" once and your region coding will have been changed.

at step 5, it displays:
Region:1 /ver 1.024(4) /Av1:7.00
but step6 and step7, it didn't work, anyone knows why ? Thanks!
