Help hack for LG 4710 won't work!

Hi! I have tried the 314159 hack on my lG4710 DVD player and it just won't work I have tried it several times to no avail! Can't anyone help with what I am doing wrong? Also does anyone know if it is DVD-R compatible or a hack to make it so? Thanx in advance!
