philips dvd 625

my dvd player is philips DVD 625. i have tried making my dvd player multi region, by doing the following:
open tray
enter 9,9,9,9, 0
closed tray

the dvd player does not seem to read a DVD it says 12 RA and it it region 2. is there any reason of why the DVD is not reading, can you please reply, thank you
