Try this I found this on www.DVDRHELP.com it was for a SC-HT75. it said to use a Service Disc #2. I didn't have the disc so I tried it with the tray empty. It seemed to work. I just need to get hold of another Region disc.

USING THE REMOTE press "SETUP"
Go to "DISPLAY" menu
Select "ON SCREEN MESSAGES" then press "ENTER" button
Press ">10" found on the bottom right coner
Press "6" button
Press "4" button
Press "3" button
Press "8" button

A PASSWORD WINDOW SHOULD APPEAR

TYPE IN "3192"
PRESS THE "ENTER" BUTTON TWICE

You wil see RESET-DVD in the display and after this the disk will be read and the HT-SC75 is Region Free.

When replacing "3192" by "3193" The HT-SC75 is also Macrovision Free!!!
