JVC XV-S300 doesn't play SVCD anymore

my JVC XV-S300 always played svcd for more than a year, now it doesn't. there's just some green blocks on the screen, sometimes parts of the picture and short pieces of audio. all other discs, mp3, vcd, dvd, even dvd+r still work. any clues?
