DVD PHILCO STC-999 multiregion code region 0

Unlock a philco stc-999 (posibly other number in other countries).
These directions came with my DVD player. I live in Mexico city and I got it here.

1 press setup
2 enter 9210 in the menu (VERSION) appears.
3 hit select and a submenu will appear.
4 select (up and down keys) your region choice. Region 0 is auto-multiregion.

hit setup to exit the menu and finish configuration.

Now, if anyone knows how to do this to a QSI CDRW/DVD SBW-241 player (often used in laptop computers) please let me know.
