sorry about the last post i slipped up....in answer to your question..i have been searching sites for the answer to your question as my dvdr70 arrives next wednesday (hurray) i have found plenty of hacks that make the machine region free but none that promise to remove the macrovision protection however you can purchase a simple scart lead set that does the same thing (it will cost you 20 quid from www.sonel.com/KeyFeatures.html
Good luck in your search and if you do find a hack rather than having to buy some leads let me know aswell i would be most interested
